UM Wows at Women in Ads event
UM’s UK Insights team did us proud again this month when they hosted a special ‘Women in Ads’ event, which provoked a powerful discussion (both in the room and in the wider industry press) around gender stereotyping in advertising.
The event was designed to showcase the latest installment in UM’s thought leadership series, ‘UK by UM’ – a series of initiatives designed to challenge and throw a spotlight on unnecessary stereotyping in our industry. The research highlighted that our industry has a pivotal role to play in reflecting and defining realistic identity roles – this goes beyond embracing one dimensional femvertising.
At the event, Insight Director Michael Brown revealed the latest stats around the topic, then Campaign Trends Editor Nicola Kemp led a compelling and provocative panel discussion involving UM’s Sophia Durrani, Thinkbox, the Economist, Mullenlowe and Unruly.
