Mediabrands UK Helps the Community
In partnership with C4WS Homeless Project, IPG Mediabrands have been participating in JOBS CLUB by providing a monthly afternoon session to help the long-term unemployed practice their interview skills and get them back into the working world. Over the past three sessions we have had 30+ volunteers across all departments within Mediabrands UK, giving mock-interviews to 16 candidates.
The sessions allow candidates to brush up on their interview techniques and build their confidence again before going into real-life interview situations. It is also excellent for our teams to practice their own interview skills. Volunteers with various levels of interview experience are paired up and it’s a chance for employees of all levels to get involved and develop skills that will benefit them throughout their careers to hire the best talent into our business.
This project has been a great opportunity for IPG Mediabrands to help the wider community and it has already seen success with one candidate, having been for several interviews without any success, being offered a job as a trainee kitchen assistant. He is now part of a programme that combines training and paid work and he successfully secured this position following his mock interview at Mediabrands, proving how the sessions are vitally important in supporting people into employment.
