This month, we talk to Rachel Forde, UM UK CEO. Rachel joined us earlier this summer, she has settled in now but there is still a lot we can get to know about her!

Can you tell us a bit about your previous roles in media?

I have spent the majority of my 20+ year career in London where I started media life as a TV Buyer at Zenith Media, before moving into planning. I have worked across a wealth of sectors, including several top clients Wyeth, Kraft, Muller, Universal, Gucci Group, Puma and MGRover. A big chunk was spent on proctor and gamble where I brought 4 agencies together to form the client dedicated agency model; P&G United: integrating global, regional and local planning and buying, under Starcom MediavestGroup.

Prior to UM, as CEO, I led the team that rebranded Mediavestto Spark Foundry in 2017.

 

What attracted you to UM and what are your first impressions?

3 things attracted me to UM:

– the people: good people wanting to do excellent work in a decent way

– the challenge: putting UM back in the spotlight it deserves

– the opportunity: through the UM global network supported by IPG, now is the time

My first impressions are that I was absolutely right. I am loving it.

 

What are your key priorities for the coming year?

Winning!

 

What’s the most dynamic client you’ve worked with in the past?

Proctor and Gamble

 

What makes a great leader?

Realising it’s less about building you, and more about building and empowering others around you to succeed.

 

What are your favourite things outside work?

My husband and two girls.
