Digital Takeover Days
Every Thursday throughout October we ran a series of digital takeover events here at SJS, with key partners including Facebook, Snapchat, Google, Pinterest and other content start-ups and creative platforms coming to present.
We had fantastic turnout, with over 250 key clients and prospective clients signing up across the series, many of whom attended several events.
We’ve already received very positive feedback, with a number of requests to share content from the days. We will be following up on this with attendees very soon.
A key objective was to educate clients and agency representatives on the value of digital for their brands, and we have already had client requests for further contact with companies that presented, so watch this space!
Across the month we had over 30 expert speakers in the building, giving an invaluable opportunity to have direct face time with category leaders, including members of Facebook’s senior US team and Snapchat’s General Manager.
Key take-outs from the events were:
- The importance of optimising for digital, rather than re-purposing ill-fitting content created for other channels
- The huge potential reach of a successful digital campaign
- Brands need to be where their audience is. Wattpad has 60 million users sharing and commenting on original long form content; over 1 million Snapchat daily active users in Norway are over 40 – there should be no assumptions about who engages with digital platforms
- The value of a trusted brand recommendation – consumers are much more likely to act upon a recommendation from someone known to them, be it a friend/family member or an influencer that they admire. Digital platforms should be leveraged to this end.
